IMEX America will take place in Las Vegas, from 10th to 12th September, and will bring together some 7,500 meetings industry professionals.
IMEX America is gearing up for yet another edition that is engaging, inspirational and creative. This event dedicated to the meetings industry, will bring together in Las Vegas about 3,500 suppliers and 4,000 buyers, from 10th to 12th September.
In this edition, there are 21 new exhibitors, among them Tourism Trinidad, Visit San Antonio and Destination Cleveland. In addition, more than 30 of the regular exhibitors have expanded their area at the exhibition, such as Live National Special Events, Hilton Head Island Visitor & Convention Bureau and Discover Palm Beaches.
Before IMEX America, Smart Monday, on 9th, is powered by Meeting Professionals International (MPI). It is an educational event that will feature Phil Hansen, artist and TED Talk speaker, in a session entitled 'Embrace the Shake: transforming limitations into opportunities", to show that certain constraints, such as tight budgets or tight deadlines, can spark the creativity and imagination of event organisers.
IMEX America also has a program for associations, the Association Leadership Forum created by ASAE: The Center for Association Leadership, for talks between leaders and collaborative peer learning.
Education is one of the main focuses of IMEX America, which promotes more than 180 educational moments for professionals in meetings and events on current industry topics, such as delegates engagement and innovation, creativity and imagination aspects. Among the speakers is Jessica Pettitt, stand-up comediant and trainer at Good Enough Now for the session 'Inclusion: beyond the law for meeting professionals', which will show how to keep delegates safe and welcome and how to create inclusive environments, and also Lynn Wellish, a hospitality instructor, who will give tips on putting a generation of leaders in their comfort zone.
IMEX's Talking Point aims to inspire participants by celebrating diversity and best practices. There will also be a session on EventMB, an online platform for event professionals, named 'Unleash your event imagination: how to ask what if?'.
"We are working to bring the power of the imagination to everything we are doing at IMEX America," said Carina Bauer, CEO of IMEX Group, in a press release. "Absolutely everything - and everyone - is connected or is capable of binding itself and the force behind all the positive changes we witness is the power of human imagination, a quality only humans have. So we are exploring and celebrating this aspect of the human being - one we often take for granted. Think of it as a human superpower; our instinct to ask, without judgments or limitations, 'What if …?'."
