European Influencers Summit wants to shift mindsets
The PCMA European Influencers Summit will take place from 23-25 September at the Barceló Sevilla Renacimiento hotel. Luca Favetta, PCMA Regional Business Director, EMEA, explains what can we can expect from the event.
What can we expect from the PCMA's 2018 European Influencers Summit?
At this year’s PCMA European Influencers Summit you can expect attendees to actively participate in shifting mindsets and traditional approaches to propel their own brands, while transforming their organisations and communities through business events.
What's the main goal of the event?
The purpose of the European Influencers Summit is to provide industry leaders with a unique opportunity for education, networking and exchange of knowledge and expertise in a relaxed, but sophisticated environment. Our promise is to leave participants inspired and equipped with new ideas and know-how to grow their organisations and events, as well as transform their own thinking.
Who's attending the event? Are you having Portuguese attendees?
More than 150 a high-profile business events executives and senior-level managers from 22 countries have confirmed to attend this year’s event, including Portugal, with attendees from Congress Center in Lisbon, Feira Internacional de Lisboa and Events by Tlc agency.
What's the event format?
The format of the Summit has been purposefully designed to embrace the importance of relationship building ahead of getting together to discuss the industry’s hottest topics, with several networking events held over the three-day-long Summit. The networking programme includes an evening reception and networking dinner, where our attendees will have the opportunity to meet their fellow Summit participants and the PCMA Leadership before the programme kicks in.
As well as this, attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy a private visit to the iconic Royal Alcázar of Seville, followed by dinner at the renowned The Hotel Alfonso XIII Palace at the end of the event’s second day - an iconic cultural landmark host to countless international dignitaries.
Set to open the event is Swedish economist, writer and award-winning public speaker Dr. Kjell A. Nordström, who will urge participants to think differently about solving challenges and explore untapped opportunities to help them become the leaders of positive change within their organisations. Other opportunities in the programme include looking at how data and analytics can help build brand loyalty and engagement.
The event programme, designed to add value for association executives, corporate business events leaders and other business professionals, is filled with interactive education sessions and workshops, aiming to see participants embrace disruption and inspire unconventional thinking. It will also focus on the role meetings and events can play as a catalyst for business success and economic prosperity for communities, organisations and individuals alike.

Stephen Rose, Senior Vice President of Communication Services at Siemens AG and Dale Parmenter, CEO at DRP Group, who will discuss the role of analytics in a data age;Workplace innovation expert Yolanda Triviño, founder and CEO of Valkira Hub Space, will inspire attendees to create a culture that creates a diverse pool of talent;
Berndardo Hernádez, General Partner of e.ventures, will speak about how to leverage technology to propel engagement strategies;
Julie Williamson, Chief Growth Officer of Karrrikins Group, will speak about how businesses can differentiate in a disruptive marketplace.
Over the years, we have built extremely strong working relationships with the Seville Congress and Convention Bureau, Seville Chamber of Commerce, Andalucia Tourism Board, Spain Tourism Office and local partners. Seville is very well located for our attendees and benefits from excellent infrastructure with beautiful architecture and visitor attractions, making it a fantastic backdrop for business meetings and networking.
