Eduarda Neves, CEO of Portugal Travel Team, was recently elected president of Euromic for a two-year term.
After five years as vice-president, Eduarda Neves was elected president of Euromic - a global DMC association that has been promoting the exchange of information, networking, cooperation and best practices between its members since 1973.
“I've been with Euromic since 2011 and, since 2012, I've been consecutively elected to the association's different boards. It's an honor to now be able to lead this association, which is a fundamental pillar in promoting good practices in the sector. In 2024, we had the opportunity to hold our Summer Strategy Meeting in the Algarve, before the Academy, which also took place in Lisbon. We had already held our general assembly in Cascais in 2020,” says Eduarda Neves, in a press release.
Euromic has a training academy for younger employees. However, this year, and for the first time, it extended the training to seniors, “with the aim of promoting the continuous evolution of professionals in the area”, reads the statement, which adds that the training takes place every year in July and covers various topics relevant to the sector.
Eduarda Neves also discusses the tax issue, which is one of the main challenges facing the association. “The tax differences between Spain and the rest of Europe continue to favor Spanish companies, creating an environment of unfair competition for our members,” she says.
Euromic has been based in Portugal since 2019 and covers regions such as the Americas, Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Europe. Membership of the association is by invitation only.
