There is a new place in the city of Porto, where it will be possible to listen to fado and enjoy a journey through Portugal’s culture and history.

It’s called Porto de Fados, a small concert hall where fado singers from the city will gather daily. Combining tradition with modernity, the place can provide shows for groups.

Porto de Fados is dedicated to classic fado, with the performance of a fado voice accompanied by the Portuguese guitar and fado viola. Before the show, it is possible to watch a short film that documents the history of fado.

Located at Praça Guilherme Gomes Fernandes, downtown Porto, the Porto de Fados holds concerts in the late afternoon, around 6 pm. The concert is one hour long.
