AIM Group Portugal celebrated its 25th anniversary in the Portuguese market, where it has two offices, with an AIMazing Summer Party at the Palácio de Tancos in Lisbon.
The Palácio de Tancos, next to the Castelo de São Jorge, with a privileged view over Lisbon, was the stage for the party celebrating AIM Group's quarter century of activity in Portugal.
The AIM Group is an international company with 60 years of activity. It has been operating in Portugal for 25 years and has two offices, in Lisbon and Porto, which together have 22 employees, as well as a network of freelancers. The company offers DMC and outgoing travel agency services, in addition to its main PCO activity.
Madalena Miranda, AIM Group's country manager for Portugal, pointed out that “although the team is no longer the same as it was when AIM started, it is a very dynamic team that is committed to continuing to grow”.
“Although I haven't been at AIM since the beginning, I've been at AIM for ten years, it's obvious that I've felt the weight of the heritage of a company like the AIM Group, which is a company with an incredible reputation,” said the coutry manager for Portugal, explaining that ”AIM today is a little different, it's a more diversified AIM, we have three business areas, DMC, PCO and outgoing travel agency, and we're still growing rapidly, always in line with our headquarters and the rest of the group. It's a very positive balance, we've had fantastic years, especially the most recent post-Covid years, and we've managed to achieve good results, which is why we're here celebrating.”
Regarding the most significant moments in this quarter century of activity, Madalena Miranda said that “without wanting to fall into clichés, it is obvious that the pandemic affected the entire industry and AIM was no exception, and it was also a time when we realized that we could reinvent ourselves and that we quickly realized that we had to make a transition to the digital age, to digital projects, and that is what allowed us to continue and also consolidate a new business area, more focused on the virtual part, of more technological events”.
This change catalyzed by the pandemic “is here to stay, in a way, not totally, but partially, taking into account that the hybrid part is still a very important part of our events,” said the country manager, adding that “we have managed to overcome these challenges and we are here stronger and, fortunately, the companies and our clients have returned with a great desire to meet.”
The events industry has returned from the pandemic “with new ideas, new ways of being, and this is also reflected in our day-to-day work and in the way we organize our events”, explained Madalena Miranda, adding that “I think we're even more satisfied with the events we're organizing today than, perhaps, pre-pandemic”.
Regarding the event celebrating 25 years with partners and clients, he said that “it's very important for us, obviously, these are partners who are part of our day-to-day business”, and that “this is an industry where there is a lot of change and, for us, especially because we manage services and don't have a monoproduct, it's difficult for us to constantly keep up with these changes in the industry, so it's important to know who is here from hotel X, supplier Y, it's important to have that contact”.
“We're very happy to be here, to be organizing this event, it's a sign that we continue to do what we do well, we love doing what we do, we want to continue to be a solid partner, a renowned company in the MICE industry in Portugal and we want to enjoy a good evening with our partners,” concluded AIM's country manager for Portugal.
