BTL 2024 with record number of visitors

BTL 2024 was the biggest ever, with a record number of visitors.

Organised by the AIP Foundation, this year's BTL, the main Portuguese tourism fair, saw more than 79,000 visitors, surpassing the numbers registered at last year's edition (63,000). With this record attendance, BTL "demonstrates the good momentum of Portuguese tourism and the positive outlook for the rest of 2024", the organisation said in a statement.

Compared to the 2023 edition, BTL saw other "significant growths", such as an increase in the exhibition area (15% more), the number of exhibitors (10% more), the number of hosted buyers (66% more), from 42 countries that send tourists to Portugal (61% more), and the representation of 85 international destinations (13% more).

BTL, which took place between 28 February and 3 March, highlights the growth in the number of participating exhibitors to over 1,500 and hosted buyers to 200, as well as the number of meetings held to 3,600.
