The Luso Speakers Bureau platform aims to serve as a bridge between event organisers and national speakers.
The Luso Speakers Bureau platform was created with the aim of professionalizing the speaker market. The project wants to be the bridge between event organisers and national experts, project the country's installed technical capacity and enhance the participation of Portuguese speakers in events promoted by international organisers in Portugal.
Luso Speakers Bureau presents itself as a “speakers agency to add talent, knowledge and experience, and give Portuguese speakers a space to share the stories, knowledge and work they develop, in order to inspire the public of the events that take place in the country".
Marta Graça, co-founder of the Luso Speakers Bureau says “we value the venues for events, the associated services, the sun, the gastronomy, the monuments, but we don't present the talent. This idea was born in a casual conversation, where we started to identify people whose work we know that there not as well known by the international public as one would expect. The list of speakers thus began to grow and the project was born to give visibility to national professionals with talent and experience. We want to position knowledge and talent at the level of what is best seen internationally.”
The agency's goal is also to present "diversity in generations, in location and in sectors, with speakers in the areas of science, medicine, economics, management and finance, education, architecture, law, technology, entrepreneurship, agriculture, arts and sports".
“Speaker agencies are very common in English-speaking countries. international audiences who attend events in Portugal", says Rita Andrews, co-founder and event professional in the United Kingdom. “As an organizer, I've always made an effort to find the right speaker and often had to resort to people who are in other countries. The Luso Speakers Bureau emerges to project more national talent to the many international audiences that attend events in Portugal".
