25/07/2019

The conference is on IT&CM Asia's first day, taking place from 24th to 26th September in Bangkok.

The first topics and speakers of the Asian MICE Cruise Conference, which takes place on the first day of IT&CM Asia, from 24th to 26th September in Bangkok, are already known. The big news is the extension of the program, which in this edition will feature two lectures and six debate sessions.

After the opening, by Darren Ng, managing director of TTG Asia Media, which organises the event, two keynote speakers presentations are planned, one of which has already been revealed. It's Kent Zhu, president of Genting Cruises, who will talk about the company he leads, one of the first to recognise the potential of the MICE segment in the cruise industry.

Karen Yue, editor of TTG Travel Trade Publishing, will be moderating “MICE Onboard 1: Fun and Frivolous?”, which will address the way cruising entertainment activities today appeal to a corporate incentive program, and fit in with solemn corporate event meetings, a segment that cruises also intend to attract. Also participating are Angie Stephen, managing director - Asia Pacific of Royal Caribbean Cruises, Michael Goh, senior vice president - International Sales at Genting Cruise Lines, and Roberto Verdino, deputy country manager - Japan, Korea and Sountheast Asia of Costa Asia.

MICE Onboard 2: Crazy Rich Cruisers will discuss the development of luxury cruises in Asia and the Asian appetite for this segment and its exquisite incentive programs. Freddy Muller, vice president - Corporate & Incentive Sales at Silversea Cruises, and Felix Chan, vice president - Sales Asia at Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, are the guest speakers.

In the third debate, “MICE Onboard 3: Leaving Minimal Trail Behind,” the most environmentally-friendly measures that cruise companies are implementing to reverse the accusations they are being targetted, such as those responsible for marine and air pollution, will be addressed. For now, only one speaker has been revealed for this panel, which is Angie Stephen, managing director - Asia Pacific of Royal Caribbean Cruises.
