Why not create a brand of gifts for business travellers, with high quality products that remind people of Portugal?

This was Cristina Gaspar's challenge: to launch a brand of corporate gifts, with high quality national products, reminiscent of Portugal to those who visit us for professional reasons, whether to participate in a seminar, a convention, a congress, a fair or an incentive. That way ‘Remember Portugal’ was born, in May 2022.

The idea came up right after the pandemic, in France, where Cristina Gaspar had been working for over 10 years in the meetings industry. “I wanted to associate my professional experience with the desire to reconnect with my Portuguese roots”, she explains. “And after having analysed the corporate gifts market and the great potential of Portugal as a MICE destination, it seemed pertinent and logical to me to create a different brand of corporate gifts: a brand that values Portuguese know-how, and that intends to offer premium gifts to the numerous foreign travelers”.

In France, in recent years, Made in Portugal has been “very fashionable. It is increasingly appreciated and sought after: it is synonymous with quality and creativity”, reinforces Cristina Gaspar. And it is in pursuit of this quality and creativity that it has been selecting Portuguese products, handicrafts, gourmet, stationery or beauty items, which become “unique corporate gifts: custom-made gift boxes or gift bags, which can be personalised”. “Thanks to our BtoB solutions, we respond to the expectations of the most demanding customers, and we make sure that everything goes on schedule, with the delivery of gifts at the 4*/5* hotels [Mainland Portugal] where our customers usually stay ”.

“We intend to provide emotions among foreign travellers”, highlights the head of ‘Remember Portugal’. “Our 100% Portuguese gifts help make each event memorable, and extend each experience beyond our borders”. The main clients are the MICE agencies, specialized in the organization of corporate events. Some are Portuguese, but there are also American, French, Spanish, Belgian and even one from Malaysia. “These are companies that are used to organising events in different countries and offering gifts to thank and reward participants. They are curious event organisers, who seek to surprise with original and typical gifts, different from traditional advertising gifts”, describes Cristina Gaspar.

This first year of ‘Remember Portugal’ is, for Cristina Gaspar, “very positive and encouraging, the orders placed were a success and the interest in our offer is growing. The satisfaction of our customers remains our priority. So far, we have managed to exceed your expectations thanks to our personalised support and the BtoB solutions we provide. We are very proud to share national treasures with foreigners who come to Portugal, and to suggest an alternative to advertising gifts”.

‘Remember Portugal's’ ambition is to become the main supplier of premium national corporate gifts, a reference partner in the meetings industry. “In the coming months, we will complete our offer with unique products and new gift suggestions with a 'Portuguese soul'.
