Hilton opens Duo Hotel Lisbon with space for meetings and events

The Duo Hotel Lisbon, Curio Collection by Hilton, was inaugurated in the Cais do Sodré area of Lisbon, and has space for meetings and events.

Hilton opened its latest property in Portugal in june, the Duo Hotel Lisbon, Curio Collection by Hilton, managed by Feuring Asset Management GmbH. The hotel's 'duo' concept combines two distinct architectural styles: a traditional 19th century building and a more modern construction, interconnected by a courtyard that will feature a calendar of events throughout the year.

Duo Hotel Lisbon, Curio Collection by Hilton offers 75 rooms, in seven different categories, with views over the Tagus River and locally inspired design elements, including headboards with tile panels hand-painted in the Viúva Lamego factory.

In addition, the hotel has a fully equipped meeting room, a bar, a courtyard, the Novo Mundo restaurant, designed by chef Marlene Vieira and featuring traditional Portuguese cuisine, and For The Voyage, which offers delicate pastries.

Programme for more sustainable meetings and events

Located between the historic Rua da Boavista and Rua Dom Luís I, the hotel is committed to Hilton's 'Travel with Purpose' ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) strategy, implementing various sustainability initiatives in its operations. This includes installing solar panels, eliminating single-use plastics and offering Hilton's 'Meet with Purpose' programme for more sustainable meetings and events packages.

As well as partnering with local charities and volunteering projects, Duo Hotel Lisbon, Curio Collection by Hilton, also adopts sustainable practices in its kitchen, prioritising locally sourced seasonal ingredients and reducing food waste by donating surpluses to local partners.

DUO Hotel Lisbon, Curio Collection by Hilton, is the first of three hotels, including a Hampton by Hilton and the first Canopy by Hilton hotel in Portugal, to open in the city, following a management agreement between Hilton and Feuring Asset Management GmbH announced last year.
