Air Timor has announced the cancellation of the daily air link between Dili and Bali (Indonesia) due to "lack of support" from the Timorese Governmen.

Air Timor has announced the cancellation of the daily air link between Dili and Bali (Indonesia) due to "lack of support" from the Timorese Government, public and the aviation sector, writes Agência Lusa. The East Timorese airline blames the government for not enforcing existing regulations that allow excessive capacity on the route - where Indonesian airlines Nam Air and Sriwijaya Air still operate - which means leaving "East Timor air transport opportunities to carriers" from neighbouring Indonesia.

In addition to eliminating the flight between the Timorese capital and the island of Bali - which operated daily - Air Timor also cut off one of the three weekly flights (that of Thursdays) between Dili and Singapore (with operator Silk Air), starting from September 12th with only two, on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
