BTL, the biggest Portuguese tourism exhibition will return to FIL - Feira Internacional de Lisboa from 12 to 16 March 2025.

The BTL 2025 launch event brought together hundreds of professionals, stakeholders and opinion makers from the tourism sector at FIL, who attended the presentation of some new features for 2025. These included the announcement of Leiria as the Guest City and Alentejo and Ribatejo as the Guest Tourism Region.

"BTL both reflects and contributes to the good momentum of national tourism and the demand we've seen from companies and organisations allows us to look forward to the 2025 edition with great optimism," said António Ramalho, chairman of the executive committee of Lisboa FCE, BTL's organiser.

At the launch of BTL 2025, Rita Marques, former Secretary of State for Tourism, was presented as the new chair of BTL's strategic board, an advisory body that aims to contribute to the development of a strategy for BTL to consolidate and develop its position as one of the main events in the tourism sector in Europe, as well as guaranteeing its alignment with the market and with the objectives of the companies and organisations taking part.

For Rita Marques, "BTL can and must grow in the same way that tourism has grown in Portugal: by combating seasonality, not just by being a one-off event in the year; by focusing on diversifying markets, going beyond the national perimeter and building bridges with international markets; and by bringing value to everyone, including those who work in the sector; in strict collaboration with the sector's entrepreneurs, the territories and, of course, Turismo de Portugal."
