International chain strengthens portfolio with openings in Vilamoura (Algarve), Santiago do Cacém (Setúbal) and Lisbon, between 2025 and 2026.
Canopy by Hilton Vilamoura Marina, Santo André Beach Hotel, Tapestry Collection by Hilton and DoubleTree by Hilton Lisbon Airport will be the brand's three new hotels to open in Portugal.
Hilton currently has more than 20 hotels in operation and under development in Portugal.
“Last year, the number of tourists reached historic records in Portugal and, with the expectation that demand will continue, we will continue to invest in this truly attractive market,” says Patrick Fitzgibbon, senior vice president of EMEA development at Hilton.
Patrick Fitzgibbon stresses that Hilton is “very excited” about “signing these three new properties”, which involve three of the world's leading hotel brands: Canopy by Hilton, Tapestry Collection by Hilton and DoubleTree by Hilton.
“Portugal is recognised as a destination of excellence for the warm and welcoming way it welcomes tourists, for its beautiful landscapes and excellent cuisine. We are therefore proud to further strengthen the range of options for travelers visiting this country,” he adds.
The Santo André Beach Hotel, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, in the Santiago do Cacém region, which will be the first Hilton in this area, is scheduled to open in 2025 under a franchising agreement with the Mercan Properties Group.
The same agreement also provides for the opening of the DoubleTree by Hilton Lisbon Airport, a unit with 199 rooms and 20 suites, which should also open its doors to guests next year.
The Canopy by Hilton Vilamoura Marina is scheduled to open in 2026 under a management agreement with the Arrow Global Group. This new hotel will have 155 rooms and is located 500 meters from Vilamoura Beach, close to the marina.
